Are the arshins struck through and meters stamped on the other side?

I notice that they proofed it for "D" ball when they "captured" it. I'll bet that they had the gun when they seceded because the Czar's crest is intact.

Many of these finn rifles have nice Sako or VKT barrels, and are still Antiques.

Look ma, no paperwork!

That would really be the neatest of a Finn M-N.

Yes and most likely.

Be careful.
I've seen two *beautiful* Westinghouse made 1891s split the receivers right through the crests during slow fire. Apparently some 91s from that contract had metallurgy issues from the get-go.
That said, they are lovely-
often as prettily finished as the Chattelrault Arsenal or St Etienne examples.

Thanks!

This one's more an "owner" than a "shooter" anyway.

If I get the urge to bust caps in 7.62x54, the M39 is my go-to. (Or the M91/30, if it's corrosive ammo.)

I've seen pics of Remington that had split at the join between the hex and the barrel. Corrosion had gotten down into the seam.

It made me very sad.

I have a 1910 Mosin with intact Russian Imperial crests that I will have to take another look at (well, one of the crests is intact...the other one was stamped over with an import company name.
